IMD predicts 60% chance of deficient monsoon due to El Nino

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has downgraded its monsoon forecast, predicting a 60% probability of deficient rainfall. Total rainfall is now pegged at 90% of the Long Period Average (LPA) as the shadow of El Nino threatens the upcoming agricultural season.
