NCP(SP) Splits in Kerala; Saseendran and Thomas to Form New Party

The NCP(SP) has split in Kerala as leaders A.K. Saseendran and Thomas K. Thomas announced plans to float a new outfit. The move follows concerns over the NCP(SP) leadership's growing ties with the BJP-led NDA. The new party intends to remain part of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala.
