Defence Ministry Clears Rs 1.1 Lakh Crore Acquisitions; 98% Local Sourcing

The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved military procurements worth Rs 1.1 lakh crore. The council mandated that approximately 98% of these acquisitions will be sourced from Indian industry, boosting domestic defence manufacturing. This clearance aligns with the government's push for self-reliance in defence under the Make in India initiative.
