GBA seeks SC nod to delay Bengaluru polls to December

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has filed applications with the Supreme Court on July 9 requesting a postponement of the Bengaluru civic polls to December. The authority cites that its entire administrative machinery and human resources are fully engaged in the Karnataka State Assembly Reorganisation (SIR) exercise. This move aims to ensure proper conduct of both the SIR process and the municipal elections. The outcome will depend on the Supreme Court's decision.
