Jim and Anne Purvis purchased 187.4 acres on Ontario's Wilson Island in 1989 and spent 36 years preserving it as a family sanctuary. They have now donated the property to the Northumberland Land Trust. The land, featuring forests, wetlands, grasslands and habitats for species at risk, will remain protected as a permanent nature reserve. The donation ensures long-term conservation of the ecologically significant area.
