Woman uses inheritance to protect 140-acre Canadian island forest

Domena Diesing has used her grandmother's inheritance to permanently protect 140 acres of forest on Lasqueti Island in Canada. Partnering with the BC Parks Foundation, she secured conservation status for the land to expand a local ecological reserve. This initiative honors environmental preservation efforts and preserves vital coastal habitats in the Salish Sea for future generations.
