Agniveer Scheme Retained: Ministry Clarifies Absorption Plans

The Ministry of Defence has clarified that the Agniveer scheme will not be rolled back and all eligible recruits will be absorbed into the regular cadre after six years. Under the updated framework, 75 percent of Agniveers will receive a second two-year engagement. This policy ensures seniority protection for soldiers upon their transition into the regular military cadre.
