Auroville waste management initiative diverts 80% of trash from landfills

Auroville's EcoService initiative has grown from a humble cycle rickshaw operation in 1992 to a professional waste management system. The team now processes hundreds of kilograms of waste daily by engaging local residents and workers in systematic segregation. This successful model currently diverts 80% of collected waste from landfills, promoting sustainable living practices.
