Biswajit Basu Resigns From West Bengal SIR Tribunal

Former judge Biswajit Basu has resigned from the West Bengal SIR tribunal, becoming the fourth retired judge to step down. He follows former Calcutta High Court Chief Justice T.S. Sivagnanam and former judges Ranjit Kumar Bagh and Indrajit Chatterjee. The resignations highlight ongoing concerns over the extremely slow pace of disposal for 38 lakh pending appeals.
