Cabinet Clears Path for All Agniveers to Join Armed Forces

The Union Cabinet has modified the Agnipath scheme to allow all Agniveers an extended service period. Previously, only 25 percent of recruits were absorbed into the armed forces while 75 percent were released. Now, the remaining 75 percent will receive an extra two-year engagement period, paving the way for wider permanent absorption.
