Welfare Payments to Be Linked to Voter IDs Instead of Aadhaar

Panchayati Raj Minister has announced that government welfare payments will soon be based on voter IDs instead of Aadhaar. Beneficiaries will now be required to provide their Election Photo Identification Card number along with biometrics.
