British couple buys abandoned French hamlet for £26,000

Yip Ward and Paul Mappley struggled to afford a home in the United Kingdom and instead purchased an abandoned French hamlet for £26,000. The property includes seven cottages, two barns, and multiple other historic buildings. By performing the extensive restoration work themselves, the couple saved over £100,000 while successfully reviving the abandoned settlement.
