Coins
Coins, payouts & refunds
This page explains Short2News coins and Shorts earnings: how you get them, what you can do with them, and what happens when something goes wrong. It is part of the Terms of service.
Coins cannot be bought at the moment. Short2News does not currently sell coins. If we start selling coins or other digital items in the app, they will be sold through Google Play's billing system, and Google Play's refund policy will apply to those purchases in addition to this page.
1. What coins are
Coins are reward points inside Short2News. You earn them by taking part, for example when a news tip you submitted is published, through referrals and through creator rewards. You can see every coin you received and spent, with the reason, in your wallet in the app.
Coins are not money, a deposit or a payment instrument. They cannot be transferred to another account and have no value outside the app, except when you withdraw them as described below.
2. Spending coins
Some features cost coins, such as AI Studio creations and paid prompts. The cost is shown before you confirm.
- If a creation fails, or delivers less than it promised, the coins are returned to your wallet automatically and you get a notification.
- Coins spent on a creation that was delivered are not returned because you did not like the result. If you think a result was wrong or broken, write to support@short2news.com and we will look at it.
3. Withdrawing coins
- Coins are currently worth ₹1 for every 10 coins when withdrawn.
- The minimum withdrawal is 500 coins.
- Payouts go only to a UPI ID or Indian bank account in your own name. You must be 18 or older.
- Every request is reviewed before it is paid. You can follow its status in your wallet.
- If a request is rejected or the payment fails, the coins go back to your wallet in full, and we tell you why.
4. Shorts creator earnings
Shorts earnings are calculated from qualifying views and the creator rules shown in the app, and are recorded in rupees in your creator earnings screen.
- Earnings are held for 15 days before they can be withdrawn, so views can be checked for fraud.
- The minimum payout is ₹500.
- Earnings tied to a video removed for breaking the rules, or to invalid views, can be reversed.
We may change rates, minimums and holding periods. Changes are shown in the app before they apply.
5. Tax
Coins and earnings you withdraw may be income for you. Where Indian law requires, we deduct tax at source. You are responsible for any further tax due.
6. When coins are removed
We may remove or withhold coins and earnings that came from fake accounts, bots, coordinated activity, plagiarised submissions or any other breach of the Terms or Community guidelines. Coins and earnings not withdrawn are lost when you delete your account.
